MODALITY: alexander technique
AREAS OF SPECIALTY:
Back pain, neck tension, respiratory difficulties, repetitive and overuse injuries, performance improvement for musicians, actors and sports people.
Applying the Alexander Technique brings about improved balance and coordination, freer breathing and ever increasing ease in movement.
One of the beauties of Alexander Technique is that it can be applied to any activity at any time. It doesn't require any special equipment - just a desire and intent to improve the quality of movement or stillness in any activity.
Most people have the idea that their lifestyles, their work stations, their postural habits contribute to their pain and difficulties but most feel powerless to effectively change their situation. The Alexander Technique provides a very practical and effective tool for changing habits successfully. Human beings are designed to function at their best when the head is freely balanced on a lengthened and widened torso and this, in a nutshell is what the Alexander Technique is about.
