NATUROPATHY >>>
Naturopathy is an umbrella term that encompasses Herbal Medicine, Nutrition and the study of human anatomy and physiology to understand and treat illness.
A Naturopath may also use Bach and Bush Flower Essences and Homoeopathic remedies as part of his or her treatment program. An in-depth consultation forms the basis for diagnosis. Iridology and Naturopathic pathology tests may also be employed to support the diagnosis.
The basis of the Naturopathic philosophy is that all aspects of health should be treated in an individual and wholistic way. This means that Naturopaths treat their clients in relation to their overall wellbeing and not just their isolated symptoms.
Naturopathy eliminates the causes of problems as well as providing positive lifestyle changes to prevent relapse into ill health.
IRIDOLOGY >>>
Since the 1800's iridology has provided a simple, painless and non-invasive window into our internal health. Iridology is the interpretation of bodily states through the iris, which is the coloured part of our eye.
The iris is like a map, which reflects different parts of our body. By assessing the colours and markings in the iris under magnification, we can determine a person's state of health.Iridology is used to confirm a diagnosis from an in-depth consultation with a qualified Naturopath.
The information gathered is then incorporated into the client's treatment program or may lead to a new path of investigation and treatment. It is not used to diagnose the specifics of an illness in the way a blood test can or to replace the many valuable forms of diagnosis available to both orthodox and complementary practitioners. Rather, iridology is used to determine health patterns and bodily strengths and weaknesses at an organ and systems level.
Iridology is therefore exceptionally useful and motivational to chart a client's progression on their treatment program.
HERBAL MEDICINE >>>
Western herbal/botanical medicine is the utilisation of plants for their medicinal properties. Herbal medicine uses extracts made from the whole plant or whole sections of the plant like the root or leaves. This provides a very effective and long-term result.
It does so without the side effects or reactions that can come from orthodox drug therapies made from synthesised or isolated chemical constituents.
A qualified therapist will make up a herbal mixture combining several herbs to address the specific aspects of the clients health.
NUTRITION >>>
Nutrition is the use of food as medicine.
A naturopath may prescribe an individual dietary program to re-balance your body to treat disease and create a platform for long-term health.
Good nutrition is about understanding how food works in your body and what you should eat, or avoid eating, to maintain wellbeing.
Vitamin and mineral supplements are also prescribed as an adjunct to a good diet.
